Add-ons and deductions are fixed dollars added to a car's scrap value when the car is a certain kind, on top of its metal. Today that's the diesel truck add.

Fixed dollars added to the scrap value for a kind of vehicle, before the bid multiple. Only offers made after you save use the new amount.

Dollars you add for particular models a collector or rebuilder pays more for are on their own card, Enthusiast add-ons.

The card saves only the diesel truck add; your metal prices and bid multiple stay as they are.

Diesel truck

Dollars added for a diesel truck, from $0 to $10,000. A vehicle gets it when our vehicle list shows it's a truck and runs on diesel.

The seller isn't asked: the year, make, model and trim they pick, or the plate or VIN they enter, tell your site whether it's a diesel truck. A diesel car or a gas truck doesn't get it. Any diesel fuel counts, including a biodiesel blend.

Enter whole dollars or dollars and cents. A blank saves as $0, which turns the add off. An amount over $10,000, or below $0, is refused: "Enter dollars from $0 to $10,000."

The add joins the scrap value with the metal, so the bid multiple applies to it. At an 80% multiple, a $200 add raises the offer by $160.

The Diesel pickup tab under Try a car on the Bid multiple card shows it worked, as a Diesel truck line after the metals. The quote's breakdown shows the same line. A seller never sees the add, only the offer.
